Restoration fee

What is restoration?

If you're no longer registered because you have been working abroad, taken a career break, or been removed from the register for non completion of CPD or for not paying the annual retention fee (ARF), and you would like to put your name back onto the register, you will need to apply for restoration. This is the process of restoring your name to the register, and you will need to pay a fee for this.

How long does the fee register me for?

The fee is not pro-rated, so you pay the full year's ARF whatever month you apply for restoration in, along with an administration fee. The restoration fee only covers your registration until the next ARF due date; this is 31 July for DCPs and 31 December for dentists. If you are paying the restoration fee in the two months before your next ARF is due, you will also need to pay this to ensure you are covered for the following year.

What is the fee for restoration?

The fee depends on your profession and when you apply for restoration, as you may also be required to pay the annual retention fee for the following year.

Dental care professionals restoring their name to the register in June or July also need to pay the annual retention fee. This is because the annual retention fee is due by 31 July.

Dentists restoring their name to the register in November or December also need to pay the annual retention fee. This is because the annual retention fee is due by 31 December.
