General Dental Council prepares for Dentistry Show

The General Dental Council (GDC) will be highlighting some of its key projects at this year’s Dentistry Show, taking place on 2 and 3 March 2012 at the NEC in Birmingham (Hall 4).

Organisers expect more than 6,000 members of the dental team to attend the two-day event.

The GDC’s Chair Kevin O’Brien will speak on the morning of 2 March.  Kevin will update delegates on the latest developments at the UK’s dental regulator including the review of ‘Standards for Dental Professionals’ and ‘Scope of Practice’. Chief Executive and Registrar, Evlynne Gilvarry will also attend.

In addition, GDC staff will be on hand to answer any questions delegates may have about the regulator and how its work affects them. Free patient leaflets on tooth whitening and the GDC will be available as well as publications explaining Continuing Professional Development requirements and the GDC’s Standards.
